Tuesday rambles

I’ve got a new Reason post up: McCain Meltdown. If I had the time and energy, I could watch political news programs all day long for the next three weeks leading to Election Day. I’m so fascinated with this race. Mostly, there’s a sense of Schadenfreude seeing the GOP looking like the Democrats typically look like in an election: campaign infighting, news stories of sagging polls, video clips of candidates unable to control their own crowds at rallies.
Fortunately, I have better things to do. But I will be watching the Last Presidential Debate Wednesday night.
My favorite read this week was the Rolling Stone profile of John McCain. I can’t decide now whether “son of privilege” McCain or “incoherent and incurious” Palin is more like “W.” I guess I’ll just play it safe and steer clear of both of them.
I also encourage you to read Rob Joki’s powerful post, “When I Knew and How It Saved Me.“
By the way, early voting is going on right now. Go and get it done now, then volunteer to help on Election Day.
