Business Journal gets online facelift
Technology — Posted on May 14, 2009 at 5:35 amThe Business Journal was the first subscription I got when I moved back to Youngstown. In fact, I got it before I moved back, so I could read their articles online. At $2.95 per month, it’s hard to find a better value.
However, I was frequently frustrated by clicking on an article, logging in, then being directed back to the home page. The first rule of logins (and it’s not that hard, people) is that it should remember where you were going and take you there once you’ve logged in.
I also disliked the format with left and right columns of links and content squeezed in between.
Fortunately, all of these issues have been remedied. They’ve also begun emphasizing video, with help from Stacia Erdos, which you can read more about here from Shout Youngstown.

Being a subscriber myself, I welcome the changes. I would like to see a few more additions for subscribers including RSS, a way to save an article for later viewing, or an easier way to manage my account.
All good points. I would love to change my e-mail address and password but can’t. We’re at least caught up to 2003 standards.
Good comments. I’m not sure if you can consider this an “inside” scoop, because a lot of people know about this but I can tell you that there are many new changes are coming to the online edition of the Business Journal. Stacia Erdos is part of it, but many more features are coming including a much more reader-friendly look and functionality. nice blog btw
