Obama touts Youngstown in Elkhart speech
Youngstown — Posted on August 5, 2009 at 10:53 amMSNBC.com has been running a long series highlighting the tough times of Elkhart County, Indiana, which has been hurting with the collapse of its RV manufacturing industry. Today, speaking in Wakarusa, Indiana, President Obama said:
The battle for America’s future will be fought and won in places like Elkhart and Detroit and Goshen and Pittsburgh, South Bend, Youngstown, in cities and towns across Indiana and across the Midwest and across the country that have been the backbone of America.
It will be won by making places like Elkhart what they once were and can be again, and that’s centers of innovation and entrepreneurship and ingenuity and opportunity, the bustling, whirring, humming engines of American prosperity.
There it is again: Youngstown is a center of innovation, entrepreneurship, ingenuity and opportunity.

Yea, humming engines of American prosperity, conks out when you try to employ an individual and before they begin one second of work, the employer is staring at workman’s comp.,employment taxes, and medical insurance. That’s why the mexicans (I love mexican’s) were here. Now they have been leaving in droves, we let our politicians kill our industries ability to compete.
Unfortunately, if we cannot even make the clothes on our backs, our way of capitalism will not survive. Bottom line, it is a conflict between the haves and have nots. The politicians need the votes of the have nots so they give them full subsidy with no work required in return. And, the haves are taxed to pay for the subsidy. However, the balance has shifted wherein there are not enough revenues from the haves to subsidize the nots. This is the paradox of our society and now it has raised it’s ugly head by way of economic collapse.
There is only two ways out of our demise, innovate like we did in the 80’s (PC’s, and internet 90’s) or really reform our welfare and big government systems. We have been robbing from Peter to pay Paul for so long, now Peter has no money and Paul needs to work.
