In celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week, YSU is sponsoring a student business proposal competition which could lead to funding for launching your great idea! To participate, submit an IdeaLaunch proposal (2 pages maximum) which must include the following:

  • Describe the service or product – will it change the way people live, work or do business?
  • Why is your idea unique? What is your competitive advantage?
  • Who is your competition?
  • Who is your customer?
  • How will you sell your product or deliver your service?
  • What are your skills for launching this idea? Who else needs to be involved?
  • How much money is needed to get started? For equipment, for operations?

Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of entrepreneurial experts with the semi finalists invited to present their IdeaLaunch proposals at the Rise & Shine breakfast on Thursday, November 19 at 7:30 am at YSU’s Williamson College of Business Administration. Finalists will be paired with a mentor and required to prepare a business plan for presentation to the Garden Club Angels during National Entrepreneurship Week in February 2010. IdeaLaunch Proposals will be reviewed and judged according to:

  • Economic and technical feasibility
  • Quality of product, service, and solution
  • Market opportunities and competition
Proposals must be received by November 2 by 5:00 pm and submitted to idealaunch@ybi.org.

What a good opportunity for some smart students! And I learned something – I hadn’t been aware of the angel investors group. That also sounds like an interesting organization.
