Prior to 2010, customers at Panera Cafes in northeast Ohio, western Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Florida could access free WiFi without time limit and without acknowledging the service’s provider. Tyler Clark Consulting identified a marketing opportunity and worked with Covelli Enterprises, the local Panera Bread franchisee, to expand the opportunity to simultaneously solve an operational challenge of limited table space in the cafes.
Developing a splash screen and a dynamic site for the Panera menu, the cafes now have personalized pages for each individual market, greater awareness of promotions for customers and over 10,000 email signups to send offers to. http://wifi.covelli.com/panera.
